I’ve shared before how odd transitioning to a new home can be. But we thank God that the physical home is a nice place, with a heavily forested green space right behind us. Our puppy Mishi enjoys watching the squirrels and chipmunks run around, and if we aren’t attentive, she’d be after them. I don’t know what she would do it she caught one, but the picture below showing her chew toy collection gives a good idea.

Van has started his last year of high school. He is most impressed by the teachers. What impresses him is that they don’t actually spend alot of time trying to manage the class. The slackers sit in the back row chatting and wasting their time… and the teacher doesn’t seem to mind! But then Van realized that the teachers are there for those who want to learn. Previous schools saw too many teachers wasting too much precious class time trying to cajole the losers into better behaviour or attitudes, at the expense of those who wanted real progress in learning. Now, for all we know, it was some metric the teachers had to follow, and maybe they would have focused more on teaching the students who want to learn. But all we know is that our son, who has previously NOT liked any of the schools and classes he had, LIKES the teachers, and thus the classes, and this, his final high school. Praise God.
more to come…
